What This Calculator Does

Why NRR Is the Tiebreaker, Not Head-to-Head
Most limited-overs competitions — from local T20 leagues to major franchise tournaments — use Net Run Rate ahead of head-to-head record when teams are level on points. It’s considered a fairer reflection of overall performance across the whole league than a single result between two sides. Tied Matches and Super Overs
A genuinely tied match (both teams level after all overs and no Super Over played, common in some club formats) earns tie points for both sides. Frequently Asked Questions
How are cricket league points calculated? +
Most leagues award 2 points for a win, 1 for a tie, and 1 for a no-result (abandoned) match, with 0 for a loss. Some T20 leagues use 4-2-2 instead of 2-1-1, and a few competitions award 0 points for a no-result rather than 1 — always check your specific league's rules, since this calculator lets you switch between the common systems or enter a custom points value.
What is the tiebreaker when two teams have the same points? +
Net Run Rate (NRR) is the standard first tiebreaker in almost all limited-overs leagues and tournaments. The team with the higher (more positive) NRR is ranked above a team with the same points but a lower NRR. Some competitions use head-to-head result as a secondary tiebreaker after NRR, but NRR is by far the most common approach.
Does a Super Over win count differently on the points table? +
No. A match won via Super Over is recorded as a standard win, not a tie, for points-table purposes. However, Super Over runs and overs are excluded from NRR — only the main innings figures count toward each team's Net Run Rate.
